A rare member of the Pyrope-Almandite series of Garnets, this material comes from the Kangala area of Tanzania. This material comes from the Kangala area of Tanzania. This material is called "Raspberry" because of its fine color resembles the same. This mine was discovered in early 1987, and material is getting increasingly difficult to obtain. As with most Garnets, Raspberry Rhodolite is a very durable gem, with a hardness of 7, and a very good refractive index of 1.76.
